ABC of animals

Welcome to the start of ABC of animals today's letters a,b and c the animals chosen are unusual animals you may not of heard of before.


                                                     A is for African spoonbill

The African spoonbill goes fishing by sweeping its bill from side to side in the water.Its food includes insects as well as fish.The bird traps its prey between the tips of its bill.


                                                      B is for Boulenger's Asian tree toad


Unusual for a toad this ones a great climber.It likes to hang out in the branches of trees.The female lays a string of toadspawn in rivers the tadpoles have sucker like mouths to cling to rocks

C is for carpenter bee 
These wood-working bees use their powerful jaws to bore tunnels in wood to make their nests.They don't eat the wood they discard it.The male bees stay outside guarding the nest buzzing loudly and charging at anything that comes close.But it is all for show the males don't have stingers only the females do.
